SELLING

Internet clients who are selling their houses or flats can benefit from a special offer we make which only has some simple conditions. Should you have the misfortune to lose your Buyer before Exchange of Contracts your legal fees (excluding expenses) will be waived/credited if we can act as your Solicitor on the eventual sale. To take advantage of this offer as an internet client you will need to maintain with us with your regular email address.

BUYING

Internet clients who are buying houses or flats can benefit from a special offer we can make. Should the transaction not proceed to exchange of contracts your legal fees (excluding expenses) will be waived (or a credit given) provided we act as your Solicitor on a future purchase for you.

EXAMPLES OF GENERAL CLIENT CHARGES SHOULD A
PROPERTY MATTER TERMINATE EARLY FOR ANY REASON

Termination before draft contracts issued/received	10%
Termination after draft contracts issued/received but before exchange	50%
Termination after exchange/before completion	75%

In addition all disbursements and expenses incurred to date will be due

STAMP DUTY LAND TAX

Stamp Duty: basic rates on freehold residential purchases only are: 1% of the whole (not just the excess) purchase price for properties £125,001-£250,000: 3% of whole purchase price for properties £250,001-500,000: 4% of the whole price for properties over £500,000.

LAND REGISTRY FEES

Land Registry basic fees on purchases only are (at 01/04/2004) based upon a scale depending on the price being paid e.g. £0-50,000 are £40: £50,001 to £80,000 are £60: £80,001 to £100,000 are £100: £100,001 to £200,000 are £150: £200,001 to £500,000 are £220: £500,001 to £1,000,000 are £420 etc
